Board member securely accesses meeting materials from anywhere in the world

December 13, 2024

Priya Cherian Huskins, Senior Vice President & Partner at Woodruff Sawyer, understands the inefficiencies of paper-based board meetings. Years ago, as a corporate securities associate, she had to chase down board members across the globe to get board books to them in a timely fashion. Now, as a trustee of two public and two private company boards, Huskins needs materials delivered to her quickly and securely.

“The stakes are high for board members,” Huskins said. “First and foremost, I must be confident that I’ve seen all the materials. And that I’ve gotten them in a timely way. If I’m traveling with physical paper, or if [materials] are coming through random emails, I could get to a place where [I] didn’t actually see the materials before the board meeting — that’s inappropriate.”

By using the Diligent platform, Huskins has been able to:

See all of her board information on a single, easy-to-use interface — no more lugging board books in carry-on luggage

  • Ensure that all her board materials are up to date with quick synching in the platform for sequential meetings
  • Keep board materials confidential on a secure digital platform

Accessing board materials anytime, anywhere has been a significant relief and productivity lift for Huskins.

“My ability to get materials efficiently, process those materials, and even refer to them — what a huge difference it is just to know that, wherever I am in the world, I can sync the board book. It will have all my materials,” Huskins said. “The Diligent product is outstanding.”

Coverys saves time and resources with Diligent Boards

As Director of Corporate Governance for Coverys, a leading provider of medical professional liability services, Kim Tobin must keep the board up to date on the latest information requiring their oversight or decision-making. This was sometimes a painful process that entailed reams and reams of paper being mailed to directors’ homes, with each correction requiring costly reprints.
